Finance Committee Meetings are held prior to Board Meetings at 9:00 a.m.  in the Read Clubhouse.  They meet each month January through December.

Lake Committee Meetings are held prior to Board Meetings at 9:00 a.m. in the WLLA Conference Room.


In an effort to improve the process for handling property owner complaints and/or suggestions, a new procedure is being instituted at Walker Lake.  Property owners are required to complete a Complaint/Suggestion Form. This form must include details of the complaint/suggestion, a recommendation --if applicable -- and the property owner´s signature.  A copy of the form is enclosed.  It can be reproduced and mailed/faxed to the Walker Lake office at (see above).  Forms may also be obtained at the Walker Lake office (during normal business hours Tuesday thru Friday – 10:00 am to 1:00 pm; Saturday – 9:00 am to 2:00 pm). Each complaint/suggestion form will be reviewed and forwarded to the appropriate committee chairperson.  If necessary, board approval will be obtained, before remedial action will be taken.

* NOTE:  It is the policy of the Walker Lakeshores Landowners Association to record all suggestions and complaints.  Names of individuals registering complaint/suggestions and their signatures should appear on this form.  This form will be presented to the appropriate board member or committee chairperson who will determine what corrective action, if any needs to be taken.


As you are probably aware, there have been several reports of vandalism within the Walker Lake community over the last several weeks.  Most notable was the damage at the boat launch area and a private residence break-in. We´re appealing to all residents of Walker Lake to pay special attention, particularly during the hours of darkness, to any unusual occurrences.  Should you observe a crime in progress, please contact the authorities immediately, via 911.  It is only through the efforts of all residents of the community that the responsible parties will be apprehended and prosecuted. Also, we´d like to expand our Crime Watch patrols.  If you are not presently an active member of the Crime Watch committee, we need your help! We´d like to encourage you to participate. Interested? LETTER (10/8) FROM MEMBER JOHN WALTS TO Linda Cioppa, Treasurer:

Subject: Lake Reserve Fund Assets

With reference to your recent newsletter to property owners, the ‘doubled´  $80 assessments in 1999 and 2000, respectively, were only fractionally (~21%) deposited into the lake reserve fund, per financial records.  The difference would amount to approximately $60,000 being added to the reported December 2000 lake-reserve balance of $17409.15. The lake reserve spending mentioned in your report occurred in November and December 1997. There was no lake reserve spending during 1998, 1999 and 2000. This outstanding $60,000 shortfall should be reimbursed to our lake reserve fund. I firmly recommend that you begin to take this action now, although it will probably take years to complete. The fact that you decided to take this unprecedented step explaining our ‘state of the lake reserves´ to property owners was unexpected but so totally appreciated. Please continue to do this sort of thing. Your very positive actions can only result in our community becoming both financially solvent and a better place to live. Thanks for you efforts.
